AquaMint ("we", "us", or "our") is an aquaculture farm management platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the AquaMint mobile application, this website, and related services.

By using AquaMint, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use AquaMint.

1. Information We Collect

If you use the AquaMint app

Account Information

• Email address & password (secure login via our authentication service)

• Full name, profile role, and phone number (to manage team permissions)

• Profile picture (only if you choose to upload one)

Farm & Operational Data

• Farm names, pond specifications (culture type, size, location details)

• Daily logs: feed logs, water parameters (pH, DO, temperature, salinity, ammonia, nitrite), mortality, medicine, sampling, harvests

• Financial records: expenses, revenue, seed cost, feed cost, etc.

• Inventory items, category, unit, and stock history

• Task assignments and teammate role designations

Device & Telemetry Data

• IoT sensor telemetry: water parameter measurements sent from registered monitoring devices

• GPS location coordinates: collected from telemetry and manual geofencing logs to route readings to ponds

• Device metadata: firmware version, battery percentage, and online status during diagnostic checks

• Device motion data (used locally only for avatar animations — never sent to our servers)

• Name — to personalise our communication with you

• Email address — to contact you regarding your Early Access request

• Farm type (optional) — to understand your farming context

• Country (optional) — to understand your geographic context

• Usage analytics — pages visited, time on site, device type, browser type (via Vercel Analytics, which is privacy-friendly and does not use cookies)

• Performance metrics — page load times and Core Web Vitals (via Vercel Speed Insights)

We do not collect payment information or government identification through the website, and we do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking pixels, or invasive behavioural tracking.

2. How We Use Your Information & AI Transparency

• To provide, operate, and improve AquaMint

• To calculate metrics (FCR, biomass, survival rate, harvest readiness)

• To generate reports and analytics for your farm

• To send you important alerts (low stock, water quality issues) and, for Early Access registrants, updates about AquaMint (only if you've opted in)

• To route telemetry logs to correct ponds based on GPS proximity or manual assignment

• To analyze your pond parameters via our biological decision engine and generate advisory insights

• To monitor website performance and fix issues

We do not use your information for:

• Selling or renting data to third parties

• Targeted advertising

• Automated profiling or decision-making without human oversight

AI & Machine Learning Transparency

AI Assists. Farmers Decide. AquaMint recommendations are generated strictly from your farm data. AI does not make autonomous farming decisions — farmers remain in full control. Anonymized and aggregated data may be used to improve future biological advisory models without exposing personal farm identities.

Recommendations combine deterministic biological formulas (such as FCR, biomass, and survival-rate calculations) with pattern-based models trained on anonymized, aggregated data across the AquaMint network. Where a specific feature relies on a third-party AI model, that will be identified within the feature itself.

We do NOT sell your data to third parties, and we do NOT use your farm data for advertising.

3. Data Storage, Security & International Transfers

Your data is stored securely on our cloud infrastructure (Supabase) with encryption in transit (TLS) and encryption at rest (AES-256). Data may be processed or stored on servers located outside India — for example in the United States or European Union, depending on our infrastructure providers — with appropriate data protection safeguards.

Access is controlled by strict database-level access policies — you can only access data within your authorized farm workspace.

The app supports offline-first operation. Data is cached locally on your device using encrypted storage under your device's security model.

Security Incident Notification

In the event of a significant security incident affecting your personal information, AquaMint will promptly notify affected users and applicable regulatory authorities where required by law.

4. Data Sharing & Third-Party Service Providers

Your farm operational data remains your property. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

We share limited information with trusted service providers that help us operate AquaMint, including:

• Supabase — database and authentication

• Vercel — website hosting and analytics

• Cloud hosting, notifications, payment processing, weather, and mapping services where applicable

These providers are contractually required to safeguard your information and are prohibited from using your data for any other purpose.

Legal requirements — we may disclose information if required by law, court order, or regulatory authority.

Business Transfers — if AquaMint is acquired, merged, or reorganized, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction while remaining subject to this Privacy Policy or an equivalent level of protection.

5. Cookies & Web Analytics

The AquaMint mobile application does not use browser cookies.

This website (aquamint.app) does not use cookies for tracking or advertising purposes. Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights, our analytics providers, are cookieless by design. Our admin services may use essential cookies or session tokens strictly for authentication and security.

6. Your Privacy Rights & Controls

You have control over your personal and farm data:

• Right to Know — view all information collected about your farm inside the app at any time

• Right to Correct — update your profile and farm logs directly

• Right to Export — export all your logs, pond records, and financial statements as CSV or PDF

• Right to Object or Restrict — object to or restrict certain processing of your data

• Right to Withdraw Consent — disable push notifications or opt out of telemetry sharing at any time

• Right to Delete — request complete account and data deletion by emailing aquamintapp@gmail.com

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, subject to legal, tax, or fraud prevention obligations. Operational data may be retained in anonymized, aggregated form for biological research.

8. Children's Privacy

AquaMint is designed for adult commercial farm operators (18+) and is not intended for use by anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and we do not direct behavioral tracking or advertising at children.

9. Changes to This Policy & Contact Us

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will indicate the date of the most recent revision at the top of this page and notify you of significant changes via in-app alerts or email where appropriate. Continued use of AquaMint after changes constitutes acceptance.

For any privacy-related grievance, including requests to exercise the rights described in Section 6, contact our Grievance Officer at the address below. We acknowledge grievances within 72 hours and aim to resolve them within 7 working days.
